Digitalisation at your fingertips: Show with around 75 participants from science and industry

The digital transformation as the so-called fourth wave of industrialization is progressing inexorably. On September 13th, about 75 participants from Saxony, Poland and the Czech Republic received TRANS³ in the project house METEOR at the TU Chemnitz. A total of 13 exhibitors from science and industry introduced their digital solution for the Industry 4.0. Dr. Hendrik Hopf from Mittelstand 4.0 Competence Center Chemnitz and Dr. med. Thomas Löffler from the Chair of Industrial Engineering at the TU Chemnitz gave an insight how working and producing looks like in the digital age.

The project house METEOR of the TU Chemnitz provided an ideal framework for the exchange and discussions of representatives from universities, scientific institutions and companies. There was hands-on technology at the booths of FAB Bertelmann Technology Dresden, the Dresden University of Applied Sciences and the Chair of Industrial Engineering at Technische Universität Dresden. The tour through the digital and experimental factory of the Mittelstand 4.0 Competence Center Chemnitz met with great interest among the participants and was offered twice in order to let everyone participate in it. Two interpreters translated the tour for the Polish and Czech guests.

The second TRANS³ proved to be a suitable instrument for the transnational initiation of contacts and the exchange between science and industry on an interdisciplinary cross-cutting topic.
